Our ELI class has a free cultural tour every Tuesday. We can see many historical museums that will help students who come from other cultures understand about the culture of Columbus. Also, international students have many opportunities to show others their own culture at the international meetings.

I learn about other cultures when my friends and I go out to eat. I've learned how they eat because their way of eating is different from mine. Also, I have learned how to dance traditional dances from Colombia and Africa. These classes are very good because the teacher does not just concentrate on the book.

Columbus State University is always teaching me about American culture and others as well. For example, when I arrived here, the teachers and directors gave me very clear information about American culture. We began with a Columbus city tour and we received detailed information from teachers about historical places and events. CSU continues to give American culture city tours every Tuesday. They give us maps and information bulletins. Additionally, in my Listening and Speaking classes, I have received very good information about Korean, Japanese, and Belgian culture. ELI fis a very good program to learn English as a Second Language and to learn about different cultures too. I'm very happy with my classes.

At CSU, especially in the English Language Institute classes, there are many different students from other countries. In the ESL program, you not only learn English but also about cultures. Last semester, we had parties very often. I participated in some of them. People introduced their country and shared traditional dishes. At the time, I noticed that there are so many countries in the world and each country has their own unique customs. Furthermore, teachers require intercultural conversation.
Claudia / Colombia
In the Listening and Speaking classes, I am learning how to use appropriate language for different situations, and I have learned about other cultures. The field trips also teach me a lot about the culture of Columbus.

At CSU, the teacher instructs us about the culture. They often organize meeting, parties, or trips for students to discuss the culture in many countries in the world. In class, we often have cultural presentations from every student
